Sean Kennedy

As Managing Director of Summit International Relations, Sean Kennedy oversees strategic planning and development of partnerships at the firm. Mr. Kennedy identifies business opportunities for US companies in the Balkans and Black Sea region and develops the business and government relationships required to seize these opportunities.


Mr. Kennedy comes to Summit International Relations with a strong background in political and media consulting as well as extensive energy policy and natural resources field expertise. For the past five years, Mr. Kennedy has had a consulting firm that specialized in working on issue-driven projects from building environmental awareness in the Ukraine to negotiating the details for former President Clinton’s trip to Romania.


Before creating Summit International Relations and working on issue-driven projects, Mr. Kennedy served in the Clinton Administration working on a wide range of energy issues. He was appointed to work on radioactive waste issues and served on the team designated to realign and recommend downsizing of all the nuclear defense work at the Department of Energy. He also worked in the Office of National Security and Nonproliferation. During the second term of the Clinton Administration, Mr. Kennedy served as senior staff to the Secretary of Energy, at the U.S. Department of Energy.


Mr. Kennedy has vast political and campaign experience and was called upon by President Bill Clinton and Vice President Albert Gore Jr. through three Presidential campaigns and throughout the entirety of the Clinton Administration to oversee their media events. He designed and produced many of the President and Vice President's largest and most important rallies, inaugurations, and international summits. He produced and directed the majority of the large crowd events for President Clinton's foreign travel, including Romania with 450,000 attendees, Ukraine with 250,000 attendees, Bulgaria with 85,000 attendees, and Ireland with 60,000 attendees.


Mr. Kennedy has a strong academic background in geology. While at the University of Iowa, Mr. Kennedy was a political organizer while he earned Bachelors and Masters Degrees in the field of geology. His Masters research focused on metamorphic petrology and structural geology. While working on and after completion of his Masters Degree Mr. Kennedy worked as an exploration geologist in the natural resource industry.
